French Writer Colette & Her Cats...
Chatte-Dernière and Colette...
“Each cat I met provided an example of personal virtue and led me to believe that I had to depict, each time, a cat that had been born and lived only for me.” French writer Colette is probably one of literature’s greatest feline lovers, going so far as to immortalize her Chatte-Dernière (the cat’s name) in the character of Saha, a Chartreux who wins a man’s heart in the novel La Chatte (1933).
